Emboss Resist Sympathy Card

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! Good grief! The weather was totally horrible (rainy, snowy, and windy) this Memorial Day weekend, so I should have had time to craft, right? Wrong! I was playing with our family's new addition all weekend, a beautiful Devon Rex kitten we're calling Maxwell. He's my new little baby, and loves to be with me (as in literally ON me) every waking moment. I'm loving it all, and he's settling in so nicely. (He even plays fetch. Yep, for real.)

I created this card for an extended family member who recently lost a loved one. I found the stamp in the clearance bin at Michael's, and I thought it just begged for a Tim Holtz Distress Ink technique. The papers are from Stampin' Up's last Sale-a-Bration designer series paper. I think this might be their best designer paper yet ... the prints are small enough to be really useful on cards and the colors are so bright and appealing. I wish it was still available!

And, of course, a photo of our new addition cuddled up with my daughter, Olivia. How perfect!

Hope your week is as full of love, joy, and gratitude as ours has been. Thanks for stopping by!
